FAQs
I'm new to triathlon - is having a coach just for the pros?
Whatever your level of experience or your triathlon goals, having a coach can benefit you. I work with a wide range of athletes, from complete novices through to those who are competing at Age-Group World Championships.
Do you do "one-off" sessions?
Yes! Although most of my work with individual athletes is through an ongoing coaching relationship, I can take you through a single session on e.g. bike-handling skills, transition, using your gears, open water coaching, running technique, or a series of sessions focussing on one particular area of triathlon. This could be in a small group or on a one-to-one basis.
Can I try a club session without committing to joining?
To come regularly to club sessions, you need to be a member, but you are welcome to come for a free trial session to see if you enjoy it and want to join. Go to the Tri2O Triathlon Club website and hit "contact us" to let us know.
Is there a time cut-off for your GO TRI events?
GO TRI is aimed specifically at beginners to multisport. There is no pressure, just encouragement and support, therefore we do not have a time limit for our events. We do provide home-baked cake for our participants at the end though!
Can I use a mountain bike for your GO TRI events?
Yes, you can ride any bike as long as it's roadworthy. It has even been completed on a Reading Readibike!
Do you charge for your initial assessment and meeting?
This is part of the process of coaching effectively and getting to know my athletes. It's essential, therefore it's included in my monthly fee. However, we don't embark upon this process until we are both sure that we want to pursue with a period of coaching, after an initial meeting.
